I am not the greatest at keeping up with this...

When I set out on this Journey in Feb I was determined that I was going to keep up with blogging this time.  While I have done better than my past attempts, I have not done as well as I liked.  Again I am still stuck in a rut; AND I am now on a budget.  So, I need to find meals that I can fix, that are interesting that don't cost a small fortune when I go to the grocery store.
To be honest, I would really like to just spend my time making the food, rather than going to the grocery store.  I like going to the grocery store, but I get stressed because they don't have all the ingredients for a recipe.  When they don't have one, I start to panic, or I start thinking that I will just adjust and everything will be okay.

That is why some of these blogs have not been about food.  Most of the recent ones ave been on whatever this little ole brain can think of.  (Let me tell you that sometimes it really isn't that much ;)).

This weekend we went to an Anime convention.   It's a fun time, but let me just tell you somethings that are not good about it.
1. Nerds DO NOT know how to stay in a line, or go with the flow of traffic.  I thought that you all were supposed to be smarter than the rest of us and know which way to go.  I don't want to drive down the road with any of you, cause I garentee you are going down the wrong side of the road.
2. Have you ever heard of a shower?  Coming to the convention with greasy hair is unacceptable.  Spending 3 days in your outfit with out showering is unacceptable.  You are staying in a hotel, you can use as much water as you like.  VISIT the shower, if not once, twice in a day.
3. DON'T stop and not look at the booth/vender/dealer you are in front of.  There is someone behind you, probably shorter, that wants to look at stuff and you are in the way.  4.  If you are a 400lb man, and you are going to watch something in subtitles DON'T sit in the middle of the room.  There is someone shorter sitting behind you and you ruin a ton of what is going on.

I did have a good time, I am excited that "My Little Pony" and "Power Rangers" are making a come back.  I even got to meet the green ranger!!! :) That is all for now..until next time :D

>.< this month is flyin by....

Where has the time gone?  I always think that I have more time to cook, write, read...or just nap, then I look down at my planner, and realize that there are 9 days until my Birthday....YIKES.  Last year this time, I wasn't even remotely worried about when I had time to write, I hadn't started to blog.  Last year on this date, I finally picked out my wedding dress.... That's me, on the day I picked it.  It was saved on my computer and Mike didn't find it.

This day also happens to be my great grandmother's 103rd birthday, and Yes I did pick out my dress on her birthday.  I really felt like she was spreading fairy dust from heaven, and I finally decided on this dress.

My best friend and Matron of Honer picked out this dress.  I could not imagine my life with out her and I couldn't imagine that day with out her.

If you know me well, you know that I do EVERYTHING last minute, I do it well, but it is totally impulse.   I drive more than everyone nuts when I do it.  From empty cabinets, to big projects, that is how I work.  I'll buy your birthday present, the day of your birthday...I might even wish you a happy birthday the day before so that I don't miss it.  My wedding plans last year went that way, but I go it all done.  I have no idea why I am rambling on about why I am so last minute.  Other than I really really need some inspiration in the kitchen.  I see all these recipes that I want to make.  But then when I get down to it I don't make them.  I'm not lazy, I just don't want to have to shop every day.  I need a shopping time to just fill up the house and shopping time to just fill up what I am going to try.

I haven't made anything new in a very long time.  I get in the kitchen and I just stare.  I get on Pinterest and pin something and then I just let it sit there.  I am not a lazy person, but my willingness to cook, is gone with the wind, and I am not sure how to get it back.  SOME ONE HELP ME PLEASE!!

What I would really like for my birthday this year is a nice cookbook (that I don't have to keep returning to the library), and a Zebra.  The Zebra, I am more than sure I will not get.  I would so keep it in the back yard.  I would also like spooines (Rachael Ray of coarse) Two yards of orange fleece, and anything Zebra that you can find.  Now I am not expecting packages to land at my door step.  But I wasn't sure what else to ask for.  I was thinking more of the practical.  PS...I am up 24 views since the 6th.  I would really like to get up to 400 by August first....so pass on the word.  And send me some inspiration!!!

I LOVE Pinterest!!!

If you haven't been on Pinterest, or you have pinned a recipe but haven't tried it you really need to.  Every recipe that I have done has come out AMAZING.  One day I really want to make money on what I cook.  I really think that I should have taken up a cooking course!!!!  So I made Pumpkin Muffins which are "Weight Watcher" endorsed.  http://sweet-verbena.blogspot.com/2011/08/pumpkin-muffins.html
You can find the recipe there.  It really is two ingredients.

Oh My It's July....

Welcome to the world Tabitha Nichole, 07/02/12.  I sped all the way to NC to see her!!!   The picture will have to be this big, because technology hates me, and I cannot change it!!!  She is such a pretty baby girl.  I could just hold her all day, but I had to leave so, I will not be able to hold her for a while.

Photo: We survived!!!
This is my little man.  And I watched him for the first time overnight all by myself. I was worried that we wouldn't make it through the night.  But we did and he was still smiling in the morning.  Truly, I LOVE THIS KID.  He was my ring bearer.  I can't believe in almost 10 months how much he has grown.  He has teeth now!!!!

I will stop showing off my niece and nephew now.  I cannot believe that it is July.  Where has this year gone?  I still can't believe that I don't work at wally world all the time!!!  I also can't believe that there are 300 views of my blog.  Wonder who is looking?

This blog has become much more than what I do in the kitchen.  But I have decided not to change the name because everything begins in the kitchen.  Who is not thinking about what they are going to eat or drink next?  And if you say that you aren't, you are really lying.  Now it is becoming more of who is gonna clean up after my kitchen mess?

I love reading other peoples blogs too.  I get ideas from you guys.  I like to think that one day my blog might be turned into a book.  One of my many careers was to publish a book.  I might.

I really hope that my last blog didn't turn you off to me.  But honestly, it is my blog.  Sometimes you just need to say things.  I have no problem letting my mouth get ahead of me....

I have been eating a LOT of chicken.  Which is not unusual for me, but is for the hubby.  Also the hubby and our house mate, are doing P90X.  I'm not sure if I am going to join them.  I would like to be thinner, but I don't want muscles.  Not sure if I will do it or not...time will tell.  Start paying attention to my pictures.  Then you will see if I am doing it or not!!!!

I am thinking of changing the name of my blog...

Enough is ENOUGH!!! So, I know that this blog is supposed to be about cooking, but sometimes I can't take what happens in normal life and on facebook feed, and I have to vent.

Not everyone agrees with you. We are all different people, with different DNA and different brains. Why can't I say what I like or think? Um because you will be pissed off!!! Maybe I should say what I want, state my political, sexual orientation, and any other opinion that I have. If you don't like it you can delete me, I don't really care. Cause if you are that simple minded to not want to hear what I have to say, or have an adult conversation with me, then I don't have time for you. I can like you with out liking what you have to say. You can like me and not like what I say. So you know what this is my blog and I will say what I like, if you don't like it don't read it. I don't care!!

First off I am a Republican, in fact a very conservative one. And saying that doesn't mean that I buy into all of the ideas of that I watch fox news as my only source of news. I have internet, I don't live in a box, I work for everything I have. I NEVER intend to get on welfare, or to not pay my taxes. I believe that people should only be on welfare for a short while, they should have to be drug tested, and they should have to get a job after being on it for so long. I have worked in a pharmacy and seen what your so called "free" or "fair" health care does for people. I also LOVE my grandparents very much and do not agree with what our current president is doing to them. I will do my best to help care for my grandparents if it is too expensive for them to get the care they need. I NEED them in my life, I am sorry if you don't need yours in your life. I think that TANNING beds are awful. I think that our current president should ban them, if not for everyone at least for people UNDER the age of 18. We need a postal system, the president needs to pay attention to that. You know that if they close down then the are going to to private, people still need to send mail. You know WHAT that means? No more freedom stamps, people can charge what ever they want to send mail, and it doesn't have to be the same all across the country. AND you know how people (females) are saying that Mitt Romney is in their VAGINAS? Well are you still on mommy and daddy's insurance? If you said yes, then you aren't paying for that shit. My Hubby and I pay quite a bit of money for VAGINA insurance. We had to, if not we could NEVER afford to have a child. Cause our current president will pay for me to have an abortion, but he would help me pay for decent insurance so that I can have a healthy baby. So Mitt Romney can be in my VAGINA all he wants to. And Speaking of abortion, who gives a crap about that issue? It is the 21st century...don't be a fool wrap the tool. And if you want to play game, then you should have to live with what ever your game gets you. Now probably the most harsh topic of all...Homosexuality. I have friends (good friends) who are gay. That is fine if you are. I am not going to hate you, or whatever. But I really am getting tired of hearing that this person hates you, or this group of people is boycotting a place because they either don't support gays or do. In America you have the right to choose, if I want to go there I will go there, if I don't I won't. Stop congesting my facebook with that stuff. I am sorry but I am really not concerned with this. I don't think that it is right that our president allows two women or two men to get married, but doesn't allow a polygamist to get married and not be prosecuted. I think that I have hit all the topics...

If you don't like what you are reading please by all means stop following me on facebook, twitter, and on here. You don't have to agree with me. It is your right. But this is my blog and I will say as I please. Thank you and have a nice day!

You will learn young sun, you will learn!!!

Yummy chicken night number two :D I love when I find a recipe, and I have all the ingredients for it. This doesn't happen all the time..but today it did and I am proud for not having to go to the grocery store.

Can I just tell you how much I love my new job? I get to wear whatever I like (including my fave flip flops!!) and they don't care that my nose is pierced. I am going to try and put a clear ring on Friday, for when I have to go to wally world on Saturday, but If it hurts to much, they can forget it!!! I also get to go to fun places with my clients. Today we went to the mall and just walked around and talked about things that we needed to. This is a step in the right direction, and I can't wait to pick up more clients so that I can continue this!!!

Tonight I made Easy Garlic Chicken...let me tell you it is easy. I spent about 10 minutes putting it together and baked for about 20. Which left me time to make fried rice and green beans!! When you make this you should make more "sauce" than it is called for. I also only used two pieces of chicken. So you should really make more "sauce".

Here it is...ENJOY!!!

Wowza...where have I been?

I apologize for not blogging in forever and a day in a half. I more or less work three jobs right now, and haven't found my cooking muse. (I am stuck in a rut and am not sure what to make!!) So let me try and wrap up the month of June and the last part of May, in this blog, and hopefully in July you will get a lot more blogs...

So at the end of May I started work at a place called counseling interventions, I am also working at wally world on the weekends, and doing Scentsy when I can (I need to have another home party, there are many new scents for everyone to smell.) I have been cooking, but I really have no inspiration... That was pretty much the end of may..there was really nothing going on..oh yeah there was, I almost forgot. I FINALLY went to the dr about the thing on my back. Hubby was very persistent, so I went. Dr said that he was no concerned about it, and wasn't going to take it off. Well the Hubby wouldn't take that as an answer, so I said well it bother's me a little bit, so he said I will take it off..that was scheduled for June 7th.

June comes...Let me tell you it get's hectic, working all the time, and not knowing where your calendar is..oh my!! (My head is spinning) I can tell you that I made guac and really messed it up, it was awful. I don't know what I did or didn't do, but it was bad!! June 7th comes, I am totally nervous. I had in my that this thing on my back was going to be the death of me. I made Hubby go with me, after all he was the one saying this thing was coming off. So I walk in the office, and into the room where this is happening. And there is a dog...he brings a dog in the room while he is cutting this thing off of me. He comes in and numbs me, which is the part that I was most scared of, because I hate needles. That didn't hurt, he is like Ill be back in 10 mins. I was not numb when he came back in. Hubby says that the dr starts poking me and putting more into my back...I didn't feel it, so guess I was numb. He cut it out, I bleed, and then he is like see you in two weeks...wait what? Um why not a week? I'm going to the beach in two weeks. So he is like well they have to be in for two weeks. So I had them in for a week and a day, I was not coming back from the beach early.

On June 16th (which just happened to be the day of my best friends baby shower, which was wonderful!! She got so much stuff and we had a great time!!) I got a letter in the mail...my test had come back...benign!! Thank good. On the 22nd I had the stitches taken out, and trade one scar of a better looking on and a rash...ugg will this ever go away?

On the 23rd we went to brew fest. It is like wine tasting but with beer...I don't drink that crap so I just watch. But they have lots of venders and we got some wing sauce..which leads to this blog...

I have NEVER been able to cook chicken with the bone in. It is either raw or bloody...which pisses me off to no end. What is soooooo freaking hard about it? Why can't it just cook. Well today I was determined to get it right. I took chicken out of the freezer at 12pm today. I let it completely unthaw, and then put it in some water with some spices. I let that sit for most of the day. Then I cooked it on the grill for about an hour. It was bloody the first time I tried to take it off, then it was great. So I put on torchbearsauce, called honey garlic and chipotle bbq. Oh my gosh it was amazing. I love how the little things in life make me happy. Getting chicken right is one of them!!!! So now it is almost July and I will be cooking. Send me your recipe. I would love to try it!!!
